Our early Autumn tour will have a hill climb theme, in keeping with the history of the club running successful events at a variety of venues over many years. The route will be secret until entrants receive their road books, but our aim is to give you a fun run on some roads across varied sections of beautiful Devon countryside, stir memories of past experiences and have a tentative look at some possibilities for the future…

We’ll start mid-morning at the Warren Golf Club, Dawlish Warren, coinciding with the first of the Club’s Autumn ‘Breakfast Club’ meetings. There will be a wide range of breakfast food and refreshments available to buy while you meet and chat with fellow entrants.

The tour will run through the lunch period, when hopefully other road users will be either at home or parked in pub and restaurant car parks, leaving the route as free as possible whilst we pass. Our tour will comprise approximately 80 miles of smooth asphalt, with a high percentage of A and B class roads.

We won’t be stopping for lunch, but do not worry … we finish around mid-afternoon at The Salty Monk restaurant in Sidford, where our hosts Annette and Andy Witheridge will serve a ‘Gentleman & Ladies’ high tea with sausage rolls, savoury scones topped with salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cake and tea – it’ll be well worth the wait!

The road book will have both narrative and tulip diagram instructions, with total and intermediate distances, to help you follow the suggested route. If you haven’t taken part in a tour before there will be plenty of club members and fellow entrants to help you before the start.
